Game hunted in Czech Republic

Game which is allowed to hunt in Czech Republic is described in "Zákon č. 449/2001 Sb., o myslivosti" (Act No. 449/2001 Coll, about hunting management).

Required gun

The following demands apply in the Czech Republic.
Roe deer  at a distance of 100 metres the bullet should have an impact energy of at least 1000 joule. To shoot wild boar, fallow deer and red deer at a distance of 100 metres the bullet should have energy of 2000 joule. For all game the bullets diameter should be at least 5.6 mm. However, selection of used rifle should be adjusted according to following recommedations at each game species.

Roe deer: 16. 5. – 30. 9. (fawn, calf 1. 9. – 31. 12.)
Red deer: 1. 8. – 15. 1. (including fawn and calf)
Sika deer: 1. 8. – 15. 1. (including fawn and calf)
Fallow deer: 16. 8. – 31. 12. (including fawn and calf)
Mouflon: 1. 8. – 31. 12. (including fawn and lamb)
Wild boar: 1. 8. – 31. 12. (hogget and piglet is allowed the whole year around)

European Hare: 1.11.-31.12.

European Rabbit: 1.11.-31.12.

European Badger: 1.10.-30.11.

Red Fox: the whole year around

Common pheasant: 16.10.-31.12. (only rooster), 16.10.-31.1.(rooster and hen in pheasantries)

Reeves's pheasant: 16.10.-15.3. (only rooster), 16.10.-31.12. (only hens in pheasantries)

Mallard, common pochard, tufted duck: 1.9.-30.11.

The whole year around it is also possible to hunt game in enclosures and there was set minimal and normed population size

Roe deer - from second half of june to first half of august

Red deer - from september to beginning of october

Sika deer - october

Mouflon - seconf half of october, november

Fallow deer - seconf half of october, beginning of november
